Announcing Kidrobot Bags

About a year ago I met Tim Schifter, who as far as I'm concerned makes some of the best pop-art inspired bags in the world. I am kind of a bag junky (I spend a lot of money at Porter every time I am in Tokyo) and so making bags has been on the list of things that I just feel Kidrobot needs to do. And, like everything, Chad & I really wanted to push the limits.
Tim and I really hit it off and a year later, we're actually making bags. The designs are pretty insane, and stylish, and most importantly for me hold the design integrity of our toys and clothing. Lots of 3M madness, toy prints, and shiny colors. Some of the bags come with toys you can't get anywhere else attached to them... Look for them in our stores this summer and fall!
The Woman's Wear Daily article that just came out today has some preview images, and there are tons more coming.

Yo Gabba Gabba & KR in the NYTimes Magazine!
Nice article on YGG (and a pic of the toys and clothing Kidrobot made for them) in the New York Times Sunday Magazine today. Christian and Scott the creators are total geniuses, as is Charlie Rivkin, W!ldbrain's CEO. I once read an article about Van Halen in the 80's, and people said they were successful because they are all super-nice people (yes, even David Lee Roth). People just liked to be around them, and that really helped their carreers. It's the same thing with the Gabba guys, and with Charlie, who used to run Jim Henson's company, and who I work alongside almost every day.

Cover for YRB

YRB Invited me to do the cover for this month's issue. Alex helped. On shelves now with a nice little article on me inside. So flattered they asked!

Core 77 Lecture Podcast is Live

Last November I gave a 20 minute talk as part of the Core77 symposium on Design, Wit, and the Creative Act in NYC. They did a pretty nice editing job on this video, which you can view, here!
